Penina obtained a Fine Arts Degree from Brooklyn College and followed her heart and love of color to start an eclectic hat studio with a Victorian flair.  

"I have always had a passion for beautiful hats and interesting accessories because I believe they complete any outfit and make a woman unforgettable. My inspiration comes from delicate patterns and textures found in nature, especially flowers. Another source of inspiration is my two oldest granddaughters, Mollie and Allison. They have always encouraged me and helped me believe it's never too late to follow your dreams.
 
As I follow my dreams, I also help others follow theirs by teaching silk painting, batik and altering and embellishing clothing and accessories. I have been able to share so much of what I learned from my studies in printmaking, fabric painting, and hat making."
